We’re gifted to have a close-knit family; one that gave us the opportunity to watch Stefanie arrive in this world, and grow into the radiant soul who lit up a room. We were privileged to witness Stefanie’s charisma, passion, drive, love of life, paired with that contagious laugh that’s truly unforgettable. This Cugina crew, as we call it, is unlike any other. To us, our cousins are our
friends, our sisters, the people we trust most in the world. Even though Stef was the youngest of us, she had a way of connecting us even more – she was invested in family, it’s where she drew her strength and her core values. She loved, fully. It was like there was no depth to how much joy she could get out of everything in life.
Her love of food and eating made our monthly dinners always memorable. Her energy brought us to the dance floor, or to the Mic for Christmas karaoke. The joy that she had when getting everyone involved to sing the songs from different decades brought so much excitement to everyone in the room. It wasn’t enough for you to be there, she always wanted to get everyone involved, and include everyone. She’s who you wanted on your team, whether it was the annual volleyball game, or your support person for any life event, big or small. Stef was
our baby sister in the pack; always there for colouring on summer days, Fun Fridays, or snacking over the island laughing at old stories about our parents. She knew how to get people together to have a great time. She understood that above all, it was the time shared together that really mattered. Bringing people together was her gift. Stefanie was a source of energy, and she couldn’t help but share it with everyone around her.
Now we continue to come together and share our memories of her, because keeping that energy alive keeps her close and gives us strength. You were taken too early, but your spirt lives in us forever, keep sending signs.
